I have practiced physicial therapy for 33 years. During these years, I have been referred many patients with what we call ITB syndrome–a severe tendonitis of the massive tendon sheath of the lateral thigh called the illiotibial band. It is a wicked inflammatory condition that doctors and therapists hate to see because its treamtent many times is difficult and doesn’t achieve lasting relief. Patients frequently get into the medical shuffle of being referred to orthopedics, pain specialists, and physical therapists over and over.

The pain specialists usually inject multiple trigger areas with one anti-inflammatory medication or another and may attain 50% success. That leaves many who never achieve relief after seeing a maze of specialists. The pain is usually worse in the evening hours and often is so severe that people cannot tolerate lying on either side to sleep. Sleep is usually greatly disrupted.

Little did I know that I myself would have this problem. Several years ago, I believe I overly stretched in a yoga class. Great pain set in on the outer sides of each thigh. After a year, I was still dealing with the problem. I received only temporary relief with my own modalities of ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and massage. I refused to proceed with injections into trigger areas of what I consider to be invasive drugs.

It was then that I heard about SCENAR from a friend and decided it wouldn’t hurt to give it a try. After 3 sessions I began having relief. After 10 sessions my pain was 80% reduced and I decided to invest in a home SCENAR unit. I am now 95 to 100% free of pain in my thighs. Whenever I have the least symptoms, I simply treat myself with the home unit and circumvent any substantial pain recurrence.

I am so very glad I know about Penny Bond and Kathy Austin and their Healing Innovations work. I am very grateful for the relief and benefit I have received from SCENAR.

I am a diabetic. I came to Healing Innovations because my doctor was talking about amputation of my left leg. A vein had been taken out of my left leg for my triple bypass, and I had only 22% vascular circulation in that leg. I slept on the couch every night to keep the circulation in my foot. The pain was extreme, and I hated to go to sleep at night.

After my first treatment from Healing Innovations, I started to feeling warmth in my leg. After a few treatments I could sleep in my bed, and my leg and foot began looking better. Because we were leaving to spend the winter in Florida, my husband and I decided to get a home SCENAR device.

I used the SCENAR all winter in Florida. Then I went back to my vascular surgeon when we came back home to North Carolina. The ultrasound showed that the circulation in my left leg was 74%. My doctor was ecstatic! He said, “I could kiss those toes they look so great!” No more talk of amputation!

I was so close to losing my leg, and now the improvement is incredible. I sleep all night in my bed without pain. Isn’t that a miracle?

After my first bike ride this season, I was in agony. My right leg from my knee to my ankle hurt so badly I could hardly walk. That night I used my SCENAR on my leg repeatedly. Upon waking up the next morning I expected to not be able to walk, but to my surprise and delight, I was totally pain free.

I had neck surgery to repair a bad disc. After about 9 months the numbness and tingling returned to my right hand. I thought I would need another operation. Since using the SCENAR on my neck, I have no plans for surgery as my problem has gotten 95% better.

We have been so jammed up I have not had time to write to tell you how pleased we are with the SCENAR device.

When Bert got bitten by a dog in Italy and had a huge gash in his knee (where you could actually see the cartilage!) the SCENAR healed it in near-miraculous time. When he got a migraine, he put it on each temple and it disappeared in 3 minutes instead of three days.

We were in Panama and met the victim of medical malpractice who, 10 years after going into a coma, is now able to talk and walk because of his mother’s refusal to “just let him live like a vegetable”. A friend asked us to see him. We used the SCENAR on his left foot which was in a spastic condition because of the prolonged seizure and coma he experienced. The same was true of both hands and his other foot. He said that what bothered him the most was the foot spasticity . As we worked on his foot, it unfurled as well as both of his hands! It was pretty close to a technologically mediated miracle.

Through the advice of a friend, I came to see Penny Bond over at Healing Innovations of Ashevile and began 8 sessions with a machine called a SCENAR.

This non-invasive machine has, for the first time in 12 years, improved the level of pain in my legs.

Over a period of two weeks, I went from being crippled and dilapidated to a healthy and active overall feeling of well-being. The simple act of walking up a flight of steps has become less daunting and comparatively easy! Sitting for extended periods of time-at work or in the car-has become tolerable, and I no longer break into tears on a daily basis from the pain. Sitting on hard surfaces, where before was impossibly painful, has become doable.

I am beginning to move my body in ways that before were too painful. My muscles, legs, and body feel stronger than I can remember them ever feeling over the course of the past 12 years.

I feel so very fortunate to have found a machine that is such a “miracle worker.”

Penny worked with me over the period of several months on several issues. First was treatment for a very sore shoulder which she healed in about 3 treatments with the Scenar device. She also helped with general joint discomfort and neck stiffness.
I found Penny to be an absolute professional and her knowledge of the Scenar technology and her medical background made her a key resource for me for these past ailments and will continue to be a key resource for me in the future.

I got to know Penny through the Board of Directors of our media non-profit Little Pearls. Curious about her work with SCENAR, I went for an initial free session and have had multiple follow-up sessions since then, for various reasons. The most recent treatments have been for supporting healing after complex hand surgeries.

Penny is highly skilled and truly present as she works with you, intuiting what is needed and offering great insights and information to take home and use. She is a natural healer AND teacher. With SCENAR in her gifted hands, I can actually feel my body’s healing energies respond – it’s like a call-and-response on a cellular level. I highly recommend Penny – she’s a Pearl!

I decided to be treated by Penny and Kathy for multiple pain issues caused by being hit by a truck while walking across a street in October 2006. We’ve mainly been focusing on my feet upper back, neck and head for structural damage caused by the accident, as well as other longer term issues.

Let me tell you what I’ve noticed: When I was 12, I had a nerve cut in my left ankle during surgery. I had been a chronic ankle sprainer of both my right and left ankles during my childhood and early adult experience. With the nerve cut on my left ankle, I could no longer move my toes well, or feel the ground underneath the pad or in the toes of that foot. I now have total feeling. My left arch had problems stemming from repeat trauma and would invariably fall causing a great deal of pain. My arch has improved dramatically. My body is now communicating with my feet. I have had visceral shifting in my pelvis after a treatment focused only on my feet and lower legs!

We’ve also been addressing the upper back, neck and head. I kissed the hood of the truck, which resulted in me breaking my face. My jaw had suffered long-term TMJ prior to the accident, but became exponentially worse after kissing the truck’s hood. My jaw is functioning much more smoothly now.

We’ve still got a lot more ground to cover (I was pretty badly beaten — 2 tons of steel generally wins over flesh and bone!), but I am excited and encouraged by the results I have had with just 4 treatments.

Penny, your very precise SCENAR treatment on my right jaw on May 10 has made a HUGE difference! I had been dosing with my simple home SCENAR, but your knowledge and skill, plus your SCENAR’s ability to get accurate readings on where my body was not communicating and how the dosing was going, have made all the difference. I could hardly chew before, and though I’m still being careful during the healing process, your one treatment has made a HUGE difference. THANKS, PENNY!

I was introduced to scenar earlier this year- what a difference it has made in my life- I have had chronic right shoulder problems for several years-Thanks to scenar it is pain free and I can sleep on my right side again– Then, I had a recurrence of tinnitis-As anyone who has had this condition knows it is one stressful condition- again, thanks to scenar it is gone- I am so thrilled with scenar that I have shared these experiences with many people. For the past 30 years, I have been living with low back and neck pain associated with three car accidents. I had been managing the pain with regular chiropractic adjustments, massage, exercise and stretching. In late 2009, my neck pain and discomfort increased significantly, to the point that I couldn’t sit at the computer for more than a few minutes, I couldn’t work at my hobby of quilting, I couldn’t read a book because I couldn’t hold it high enough to read it. I was miserable with the aches, pain, and discomfort in my neck. Not to mention the frequent headaches I was having.

I happened across a brochure for Healing Innovations and their tag line . . . “Life’s too short to live in pain” . . . caught my eye. I started treatments with Christina in September 2010. I experienced some relief almost immediately. After six months of treatments, I feel that my pain is reduced by 90-95%. Not only is Christina an extremely knowledgeable Scenar practitioner, but she understands the skeletal and muscular systems of the body. She was able to give me appropriate stretches to further enhance my recovery.

Penny and her Star Trek Scenar device have been a life saver to me in the last two months. When Penny first worked on me I was determined not to give her a glowing report unless I could honestly say I had received real benefit. Well, I can honestly say I received real benefit beyond what I had hoped.

Early this year I developed a debilitating pain in my hip and leg to the point I was given a handicap parking sticker because I could walk only a few feet without extreme pain. Penny worked on my leg twice a week for about 6 weeks and with each treatment I showed improvement. Combining the Scenar treatments with gentle physical therapy, I slowly improved and after 2 1/2 months I was pain free and walking naturally. Not only did the Scenar work but in the hands of Penny, it works wonders.

I have used the Scenar for about five years. The Scenar has been wonderful for relieving pain from my neck, legs etc. When part of my body hurts I use the Scenar.

I would like to share what I think are the less well known benefits to long term Scenar use. Over time I have felt better systemically. I am 64 and take no prescription medications and rarely get sick.

There is an openness and connectivity with my body that I am sure the Scenar has helped create.

I would recommend to other Scenar owners that they use them even when the specific pain that they were treating is not present.

I am convinced that there is a huge long term benefit to long term regular usage of the Scenar

I agree. My use of Scenar over the last 7 years has had a dramatic impact on my overall health. I take no pharmaceuticals and rarely get sick as well. In 1987 when diagnosed with Post Polio Syndrome, the orthopedist told me that by my early 60′s I would be in a wheel chair. In 2004 when I encountered the Scenar, I was headed that way. I am now 63, and find myself in better health than ever. I consider Scenar to be one of the great blessings of my life.

Once again, scenar has come to my rescue– I was rear-ended in an automobile accident the end of Ocotber– I had several different forms of treatment but still had some lingering effects– One session of scenar and I was great! Thank you, Penny!!

When an unexpected neuropathy laid me out, I was told it would likely be about 6 months before I’d be walking again with any kind of ease. My husband had worked with Penny before, and she helped him tremendously in his recovery from a motorcycle accident and the pain he was in. I had no pain, I just couldn’t walk. The magical healing work that Penny did with me caused amazing improvements after each session. Within a couple of weeks, I was walking quite well. Her caring and healing touch, along with the methods she uses, made the difference in my recovery. Thank you, Penny for your healing and your big heart!
