Sadly Taking Down a Link

Some of you may have noticed that clicking on the link to the International Scenar Technology Association led you to an expired domain notice. ISTA, sadly, is no more. From what I understand, none of the main players in the technology wanted to cooperate with its vision of an international system of training and credentialing of those practitioners who wanted to provide SCENAR therapy. So I have taken down the link on this website.

The lack of credentialing to provide the SCENAR therapy is a significant limitation to the growth and recognition of the technology as a healing modality. It is through credentialing of therapy providers that standards of training, competence, and professionalism can be created. This is needed for consumers to be able to determine that the service is of a high quality.

So, what we are left with as consumers and providers is credentialing through the auspices of one of the main players in the Scenar world. Practically, for a provider of Scenar therapy services, this means aligning with one competitor or another, and having to pay out the big bucks to get certified through them. If one has had training through a variety of the players, it means starting over with training with one, and having to stay with that one, regardless. Unlike massage therapy for instance, where you can train with whatever accredited school you want, and then take a national test for certification, with SCENAR there is no overarching organization that says you know what you are doing. There are no overarching standards for the provision of care. This is a serious limitation to the SCENAR’s recognition as a valid healing modality.

In a perfect world, the competitors would realize that it would be in everyone’s best interest to cooperate in creating an unbiased and unaffiliated national credentialing organization in this country. This organization would be able to credential therapy providers through meeting standards that could be agreed upon as being central to best practices regarding expertise, client care, and professionalism.

Instead, what seems to be the direction of evolution in the field, is ownership of a home device for the treatment of pain, hence the plethora of knock offs that are appearing on the market. Although having access to the technology is a good thing on many levels, there are many situations where the insight, training, and expertise of a practitioner can be invaluable in the facilitation of the body in its healing efforts. This is where the healing art of Scenar therapy has its most remarkable effect. This aspect should be recognized, standardized, and validated through a coordinated and unaffiliated credentialing process.

Another Iteration of the SCENAR

I regularly receive calls from all over the country from people who are trying to figure out what Scenar device is the best to purchase. I enjoy helping people understand the various devices and their strengths/weaknesses. Based upon their needs and financial options, I can usually offer them information that helps them along in that decision. I endeavor to be objective about what might be the best device in their particular situation. My only standard advice to anyone is to hook up with a practitioner who can help them with particular questions about the operation of the device related to the conditions they are wanting to treat. I only sell Scenars to my clients for that reason. Although many models are user friendly without requiring a lot of training, there are invariably questions that come up about when and how to use the device. Support by a qualified practitioner is a major part of Scenar ownership, in my experience.

I recently received such a call and was told about a device that was new to me. It is manufactured by a company in Texas (what is it about Texas? There are four Scenar companies already there that distribute the Scenar or its knock-offs: NRG that manufactures the InterX series, Health Boss that sells the DOVE, Synergy’s Biomodulator, and Tomatex which sells, and trains through Revenko himself, the RITM). Searching for the Smallest Asymmetry: Wheels Within Wheels

One of the most important skills that a SCENAR practitioner can develop is the ability to seek out and treat “the smallest asymmetry.” We are trained that the smallest asymmetry is the essence of the issue, the place of imbalance that once found and treated can resolve large surrounding areas of tissue imbalances. It is the “heart” of the matter.

The skin communicates its status relative to treatment with the Scenar through the appearance of what the Russian doctors call asymmetries. In these areas of imbalance the skin can turn red, become “sticky” where the device seems to “drag” over the area, or have greater sensitivity to the sensation of the device’s output.

The device itself also shows asymmetries through changes in the sound of its vibration and in some models, most notably the RITM, a numeric display can indicate the smallest asymmetry.

And something not mentioned often enough is intuition. With experience the practitioner becomes adept at sensing the heart of the imbalance after a few strokes. In my experience, the search for the smallest asymmetry creates in me such a focus on what I am doing and observing that I feel a “joining up” take place, that enhances my ability to perceive what is going on with the area. Perhaps it is me slipping in to Parasympathetic Mind that I have written about previously, or perhaps, some would say it is the effect of the blending of energy fields between me, the device, and the client. Regardless of how you describe it, the result is a clarity of perception about the issue that is presenting itself, and an understanding of how that issue can best be treated.

I have pondered this experience. The smallest asymmetry is a wheel within the wheel of the area involved, that is a wheel within the systems of the body, that are wheels within the wheel of the total body, that is a wheel within its particular relationships, that is a wheel within the human species, that is a wheel within the mammalian expression of life, that is a wheel within the wheel of life in general, that is a wheel within the wheel of the planet, that is a wheel within the wheel of the Universe… and so it goes. Everything is connected to everything else. Just as in ecology, each species is important to the balance of the environment. When the species is lost, imbalance occurs.

The body has its own ecology, and imbalances affect the functioning of the overall whole. It alerts us (usually with pain) that we need to pay attention. SCENAR assists the body in bringing back into balance those areas with specificity and efficiency, shortening the duration of suffering. Treating the smallest asymmetry brings the smallest wheel into balance which positively affects all the wheels that contain it.

Update on Martin’s Progress

Jim Freedman provided this update on Martin’s progress to this point (see previous post -SCENAR Treatment with Terminal Illness):

5th treatment January 27

I had not treated Martin for a while and he had kept most of his progress but I could detect some stiffness and less ease of movement. I had him roll onto his side in bed so I could treat his left hip and buttock area. After about 5 minutes Martin let out a yell from intense pain caused by a spasm in his low back. My first reaction was what had I done. He was in utter agony. It took a good 15 minutes for his pain to subside. After talking with him I realized that when he is in bed he only stays in one position, that being on his back. By having him position himself on one side this put a stress on his lower body that caused the spasm. I felt better once I understood what was going on. We discussed his next treatment and how we would do it so we would not cause the same problem.

6th treatment Feb 3

Martin’s cough had not cleared up and if fact gotten much worse and he was in horrific pain throughout his rib area. Penny had given me a protocol called the Christmas Tree that would help relieve his congestion. I treated Martin’s back with him sitting down. I then treated his hip areas with him standing and this worked well, with no hint of any spasms. Martin noted that he could walk easier and that he felt less congested. I phoned him the next morning to see how he was feeling. Wow! He said his pain in his ribs had gone from a 10 down to much less than 1 and that he really had no pain or discomfort in walking. The cough had stopped. “Whatever you did, it was amazing” he extolled.

7th Treatment February 12

Martin’s cough is totally gone, his rib pain is gone and his movement is good. He is starting physical therapy. I treated him when he was standing up and this continues to be the correct positioning for him.He and his wife are so thankful for his relief. The treatment went without a hitch and Martin’s movement is fine. He told me he is usually walking without his cane.

8th Treatment  February 18

Martin is doing really well. He felt that he did not even need a treatment. I gave him a very brief treatment on both of his hips. His physical therapy is helping his range of motion. He is now going to the fitness center in the building almost every day. He is driving. I am going to be away for several weeks and I am no longer concerned about not able to treat him while I am gone. I will treat him now on a more as needed basis. It is such a joy to see his quality of life so improved.  Martin has responded amazingly well to the Scenar.

Organic Growers School

It’s early spring and time once again for the Organic Growers School! There are many activities going on this weekend, but if you are interested in growing organic, the is the best opportunity going to gather information that you won’t find anywhere else. We always have a booth at this event because we know how important SCENAR is to us when we are actively working in our garden after a winter’s rest. We use SCENAR to help us get through the initial reaction of our bodies to the work of getting the garden prepared for the spring planting. If we can treat ourselves after exertion, we don’t have the painful complaints of our bodies as they wake up to activity.

We also love the school for the people that come. They are our “peeps,” interested in natural, non-invasive ways to treat the pain of overexertion and facilitate  healing. Hope to see you there!

SCENAR Treatment with Terminal Illness

(Note: Jim Freedman bought a Scenar from us in 2006. He has worked with it on his wife and himself over the years, and when in Asheville, would call us up to connect. While here last November, he mentioned his friend Martin, and that he wanted to try treating him with Scenar. I told him of my only experience in seeing Scenar’s effects with another terminally ill individual, which I’m now writing up as a future post, where I witnessed a dramatic improvement in the quality of life during the last months. I told him, it could do no harm, and could possibly improve the quality of his friend’s remaining time. Below are the emails and his thoughts about his experiences in working with Martin.)

I have a good friend Martin who was diagnosed this past summer with multiple myeloma. This is a cancer of the plasma cells located in the bone marrow. There is no cure for this. He was on vacation and experienced excruciating back pain. He was hospitalized and diagnosed. He has numerous tumors growing throughout his body. The myeloma weakened his bones so much he had to have a rod surgically implanted in his leg.

Once back home in Florida he has undergone extensive radiation as well as drug therapies and an operation to infuse spinal cement to help stabilize his lower spine.

I told him I wanted to try and treat him with the scenar. I wondered how much good it might do for someone with this severe a problem.

Martin had become wracked with extreme pain and spent most of his time in bed.

Here are the emails that I sent Penny as I was treating Martin:

Jan 12, 2012  Thursday   1st Scenar Treatment

The worst problem is the huge amount of pain that he is in. He is on morphine and other pain meds. Today was the first chance that I have had to treat him. I called him and he was reluctant because he was having such a bad pain day. When I assured him there would be no side affects he agreed.

He can only walk with the aid of a walker and of late he has to rely on his arms for support as his legs buckle if he puts weight on them. Most of his pain in his is back and buttocks.

When I saw Martin I was somewhat aghast at seeing him in such bad shape. It took him almost 3-4 minutes to roll over from laying on his back to his side. I treated him with the Scenar for about 30-40 minutes and I really did not expect to see immediate results.

Martin rolled back over with a lot less effort and got out of bed into his walker and was able to walk around (with the walker) but put his weight on his legs and not his arms. He had much less pain after the treatment.

Jan 14 Saturday  2nd Scenar Treatment

I treated my friend Martin on Thursday and he has had less pain and somewhat better movement since. This afternoon I gave him his second treatment. Read more »

Latest Quantum Health Magazine

Here is the latest edition of a magazine that has, for me, a fascinating slant.

The Quantum Health magazine is one of the most relevant, to my particular questions, that I have found. Healing has been a fascination with me always coming from my background of having polio as a two year old. In looking at the idea/reality that health/healing reveals, I’ve researched and written about it on many different levels. It has been a journey, which has brought me up on Quantum Theory and its implications. Check out Quantumly Curious for more, if you are interested.

It Has Been A While

Over the last few months, I have become more and more fascinated by the question of what is happening between the SCENAR and the body on the quantum level. I have read several books about Quantum Mechanics and the Zero Point Field, but have felt like I still yet lacked a clear enough picture to write about it. Today, when looking at the comments that have come in, I found that most of them were about the Quantumly Curious page. This seemed an odd synchronicity, being that I have been deeply submerged in this world in my own research. Although, perhaps not so odd, knowing what I have learned from my reading.

I have become convinced that there is a level of activity that happens between the SCENAR and the body that is beyond the chemical and nervous systems responding to the signals they receive from the device. I am also more convinced than ever that what the SCENAR does can be done with our own native energetics when brought to bear on the energetics of another. In my own practice with the SCENAR, I have realized how my own energetic entanglement with my client can facilitate and enhance healing. It has added a depth and richness to my path as a healer.

I am currently working on another post to the Quantumly Curious page that will outline some of what I have learned. Will post it soon, so stay tuned…

I’m Back With Another SCENAR Story!

This spring has been on steroids. With all the graduations, weddings, putting out a vegetable garden, etc., I’ve been short on time to think about writing, much less had the opportunity to sit down to write. It has felt like being on the receiving end of a fire hose in the face! I have a notebook page full of possible posts that have revealed themselves to me in the melee, without the moments to develop them. Except for a new grandbaby to arrive the end of July, things are now looking like they will mellow just a bit, and I will be able to resume this effort that I have such passion about.

I had a personal experience with the SCENAR that impressed me. After discovering a sizable ants nest in the garden, I boiled a large pot of water to encourage them to take their endeavors elsewhere. In carrying it out to the nest, I accidentally sloshed a wave of the boiling hot water on to the underside of my right forearm and wrist. It was excruciatingly painful. I put the pot down, ran back into the house, and immediately poured cold tap water on it. Even after that, it was so painful that I could barely stand it. Knew I had to get the SCENAR on it, but the idea of anything touching it was appalling.

I decided to turn the sensation level down to low and see if I could stand it. I turned the frequency up as high as it would go (the recommendation for acute injury) and held my breath as I placed it on the worst area (around my wrist where my superheated glove rim had kept the hot water against my skin). Within a couple of seconds, the pain began to ease. Encouraged, I did the same thing over the whole area, picking the SCENAR up and gently putting it down in a grid over the wounded area. After about 20 minutes, the pain and tenderness had been relieved completely, and I went back out to continue with the job. I didn’t think much more about it for the rest of the afternoon. That night, there was still no pain or even tenderness, and some of the redness had gone away. I treated it again, more thoroughly this time. By the next day the deep redness had paled, and much of it was gone. I treated it the second night, and haven’t treated it since. Surprisingly, it never blistered. Now, two weeks later, the skin on my wrist has a pale brown “bracelet” where the wound was the worst . When I think what the experience of healing that kind of burn would have been without SCENAR I’m more convinced than ever that everyone should have one in their home first aid kit.
